Heartland PTO Board
The Heartland PTO Board works together to support our students, teachers, families, and school community. Each role helps keep PTO programs, events, communication, and fundraising running throughout the school year.
Board Roles

President
Leads and coordinates PTO activities, presides over board and membership meetings, and serves as a liaison between Heartland Elementary and the Blue Valley School District.
President Elect
Works closely with the President to learn all areas of PTO operations and prepares to assume the President role the following year.
Treasurer
Oversees PTO finances, including deposits, authorized disbursements, financial reporting, membership records, and annual audit preparation.
Assistant Treasurer
Supports the Treasurer with day-to-day financial tasks, including balancing accounts and paying bills, and steps in when the Treasurer is unavailable.
Vice President of Fundraising
Oversees PTO fundraising efforts, supports fundraising committees, and explores new opportunities to raise funds for Heartland programs and activities.
Vice President of Communications
Coordinates PTO communications across the school community, including newsletters, promotional graphics, email, printed materials, and collaboration with social media.
Vice President of Events
Coordinates facility scheduling and setup for PTO-sponsored activities and serves as the primary liaison between event committee chairs and the PTO Board.
Vice President of Social Media
Manages PTO social media channels, plans and publishes content, promotes events and activities, and responds to family questions submitted through social platforms.
Secretary
Records meeting minutes, tracks attendance, manages written PTO correspondence, and maintains official meeting records.
Vice President of Website and Technology
Manages the Membership Toolkit website and PTO database and works with Communications to keep website information, dates, and content accurate and current.
Cultural Ambassador
Helps ensure the needs and perspectives of Heartland's diverse parent and caregiver community are considered in PTO communication, events, and activities.
