Dear Heartland families,
It is so hard to believe we are almost at the end of 2020, but I am glad it is coming to an end! During the last few months, I have learned more about various celebrations and the ways in which different cultures celebrate them. I’ve realized that regardless of the culture or religion, many of the holidays emphasize honoring the past and hoping for peace and brotherhood for the future. Food, music and often gifts are central to many celebrations. These are shared with friends, family, and the community. Many give thanks for the blessings that they have and share with those who are less fortunate. We may hold different beliefs and celebrate different holidays, but I think these are values that all of us can share.
I hope you are able to spend quality time with your loved ones and celebrate the meaning of family and friends this holiday season. I wish all of you a healthy, peaceful and joyous holiday, not only now but throughout the year.
Sincerely,
Nayelli Palazuelos-Bowers
